Contact Lens...Ummm I don't think so!

These past few weeks have been a trip. The girl's camp is over :( they are not happy with it, but they are happy to be able to spend the next 2 weeks with Chelly and Dillon before school starts. Before camp was over they have since learned SO much. They have learned their full name, how to spell their first name, their address, their city and state, and their birthday. They also have learned several songs and prayers, such as the Johnny Appleseed Prayer (love that one). They had a wonderful parents night. Coda was little miss muffet and cher was the spider. too cute. They were very proud. Coda won an award for the best singer and Cher won an award for the most loving child.
So you have been reading that we have been having "movie" repeat problems, here are a few more. I am on the way to drop them off at camp. Cher and Coda are in the back of the car FIGHTING. Cher is screaming at Coda, I am referying and Coda says to Cher, "I don't care if you are growing on my ass!" I pull over and ask her where she heard that? She says, "Home Alone" I am like, "you did not hear that from Home Alone." "ya huh," she says. That night we decide to re-watch home alone. In the very beginning of the movie, Kevin does not want to sleep with the kid that pees the bed, so he asks his brother if he could sleep with him. His brother says, he would not sleep with Kevin, if he was growing on his ass. Well she was right. *SIGH*
Then the other night I am putting Cherokee to bed. She goes to the bathroom first. While she is in there, she says, "look ma." I said, "what am I looking at?" she says, "It crawled back up!" as he is intermittingly letting her pee out. Okay we have watched TOO much Breakfast Club.

Last night topped the cake. I put Coda up to bed at 7:30. If I put them to bed together, they party. So Coda goes first because she LOVES her sleep. I put Cher up at 8:15. When I go up Coda is knocked out. I go down stairs and watch King of Queens with Tone. about 5 minutes later I hear giggling. I said, "did you hear that?" He says, "No I did not hear anything." about 10 Minutes later I hear a wrenching scream come from Cherokee and Dakota darts down the steps like a loon. I say what is wrong? she says, "Cher has something in her eye." Cher comes down the steps rubbing her eye. She says, "Coda put a sticker in my eye." I send Coda upstairs about to ring her neck and pull cher down to look at her eye. She will not stay still so I sit on top of her, her arms under me, because she would not let me look at her eye. I tell Tony to hold her head, he says, "what do I do I am afraid I am going to hurt her." Iam panic stricken, nervous, worried, angry all at the same time. I loosen a corner from under her top eye lid, and notice it is a pointy silver sticker. I get the corner out and Tony pulls the rest out after. I lay her on the couch and tell her not to move and ask tony to give her a cold rag. I go upstairs, very upset and angry wanting to strangle Coda. "What would pocess you to put a sticker in your sister's eye?" "Iwas putting contacts in like chelly," she says. I explain that if this had been more serious Cherokee could loose her vision and her eye could have been really hurt and damaged. I explain the doctor GAVE Chelly contacts, that mommy and Daddy don't have contacts because the doctor did not give them too us. I explained that Mommy was very scared, and yes mommy yelled. She says, "you hurt my feelings." I said, "Coda, Mommy was very scared, would you like it if Cherokee did not have an eye? You would feel really bad if Cherokee had no eye because you put a sticker in it. She said she would. I toldf her you never put any thing in yours or anyone elses eyes, ears, nose, or your moth unless it is food. I gave Cherokee the same lecture. I demonstrated what life would be like without being able to see out of one eye by covering it. She was NOT happy. Well I think I scared them out of doing anything else drastic...to their eyes anyway.
This morning Coda woke up and appologized to cherokee, and said she did not want Cherokee to loose an eye. We were in the shower this morning, I was still shaken up by last night. I felt scared and upset that the girls saw me so frantic and angry and scared. Coda was sitting in the bottom of the tub while we were showering, and she was playing with her colored soaps, making them talk to each other. I hear her say, "One of these days I am going to find your village and burn it down!" I said, "Now where did you hear THAT from??"........THE SMURFS. *SIGH*

The silliness! the silliness!

These are a few short blurps over the past few days.
Friday I am putting Sunscrean on Coda. I notice a boo boo on her thumb. I said, "Coda where did you get that boo boo at?" she says, "an electric eel." I said, "What!?" She says, "an electric eel stung me." Cher pipes in, "No! no electric eel stung you, you got the boo boo in the pool." Coda say, "Ya huh! Shark Boy and Lava Girl were there and an electric eel stung me!!"

The girls are in camp and they love it. I especially love it because it is the camp I grew up with and the camp I once was a counselor at. It is great, and fun, and the girls LOVE IT. They get to see their Chelly everyday (my sitter, and close family friend, she is 17 now), the swim 2 hours eveyday and they learn so much. Baseball and gold and dance and piano, and conflict resolution, music, karate, cooking and much more. They have family style lunch where the kids get to make lunch for the whole camp. They have themes and dress for the occation. They go on trips every week. So the camp is ...adjusting to the girls as they are ...interesting. They are learning the girl's quirks and temprament. Cherokee said to chelly one morning, "chelly do you have your eyes in?" the other counselor looked at chelly and said, "what did she just say?" Chelly said, "she calls my contacts my eyes." Coda called a kid in camp the "p" word. I almost died. I knew where she heard it from. She loves the move Stand By Me. yes the old 80s movie. The part where Teddy calls Vern the "p" word and repeats it like 6 times and Vern finally fights Teddy back. To me it is a fairly harmless movie, EXCEPT for the language. The girls enjoy the music "Yackity Yack" and "Lolipop" as Cherokee has mastered the "pop" in the song. So anyway...I tell Shelly to let her know it is not nice to call people that and it is a BAD word. Coda got very upset, because she did not know it was a bad word. My poor Coda. She always picks up the bad habits.

Lately Coda is very obsessed with my baby growing belly. She swears she puts her whole finger in my belly button and she is holding the babies hand. She sticks her eye peep right up to my belly button and says, "hi baby!" I see you. When you coming out." or when she is leaving she kisses the belly and says to the belly button, "bye baby I will see you later. Be god to mommy, don't beat her belly up." as she swears that when I have morning sickness that the baby is beating my belly up. *sigh* thanks Tone!
They are a mess.

Bathroom Break

This weekend we went to my aunts house. She lives in Totowa, and its a hike for us. Of course Coda who has the bladder of a pea, and tells you at the last minute she has to go to the bathroom, tells us in the car she has to go...NOW! So we find a rest stop, and we have to go through an A+ through to a mall. The bathroom had about 50 stalls. Me and both girls go in and Cher says she wants to go alone. So I go with Coda in the stall next to Cher. Coda will not go to a public bathroom without someone in the stall with her.
Suddenly I hear Cher yelling, "Hey you did not swollow my pee pee. You don't flush, I did not get to go yet! you have to swollow my pee pee first befor you flush! Bad tolet, don't ever do dat again!!" I said, "Cher are you okay? Are you hollering at the toilet?" She says, "Yes it is not doing very nice!" I heard laughs in the background. I come out of the bathroom. Tony says, "was something funny in the bathroom, because about 6 people came out laughing. I said, "Ask Cherokee." He looked at me sideways. I said, "Cherokee, what happened to the toilet?" She said, "it was not swollowed my pee pee and flushed when I did not go already." So I explained the situation, because he was like "HUH?" 10 minutes laer he asks, "Cher what happened to the toilet?" just to here her explain it again. LOL

I won!...Maybe not :(

So I go to the WIC office. I love my WIC office. I don't go to my section WIC office I go to the main branch one. I love the people that work there, they are very nice and informative, and I don't feel judged. Yes I am a Licensed Social Worker, soon to be clinical and yes I collect WIC. So I take the girls with me and this appointment was for me, because I am now 4 months preggers. You have to fill out about 6 forms, asking you questions about eating habits, if you eat ashes or paint, drink bleach of feel the urge to, and if your kids do, if you boil, bake or fry your food, if you have the simple amenities in your house such as an oven and fridge. Of course food allergies. Do you have to choose between paying bills and buying food. I think in this economy many of us struggle with that. Then they weigh the girls and measure them. they prick my finger to check my iron. Dakota is saying before they stick me, "is mommy going to bleed? is it going to hurt? why do you have to make mommy bleed?" Cherokee is saying as she is rubbing my belly, "aww mommy its okay, I stay with you. You want me to hug you? aww mommy don't cry." I am trying my best to explain and not laugh at the same time.
So I sit down and the woman says to me, you will be receiving $240.00 in farmers market vouchers. I sign the forms as I am correcting the girls about running around, and then it dawned on me. "Wait! Did you just say $240.00 in Farmers market vouchers or $24.00? I asked the woman. "Yes you will get $240.00. You get $80.00 per child and yourself." I was dumbfounded, and I felt I was going to hyperventilate. I cried! I could not believe it. What a blessing! I felt I hit the lottery! The woman looked at me and laughed, "sweetie don't cry. you okay?" I felt like such and ass, but it was like, wow, something worked in my favor. one less thing off my shoulders. I don't have to worry for a few months about buying food, or paying my co-pay to go to the doctor. I laughed it off, but it felt great.
I drove the girls to school and then drove myself back to work. On the way, at 11th and Filbert I was stopped by a random police officer just chilling on the corner, yes standing, no car, no bike, standing. He comes over, asks for my license, registration and insurance. I was not sure what I was being pulled over for. I give him all my identifying info. Then all these bike cops and a car show up. How embarrassing... So now I am cleaning out my glove compartment because he is taking 900 years. I text 3 people including my job as I knew I had a client coming in.
He comes back around the side of my car hand me these two major RED moving violation tickets and says I have to show up in court on 9/15 at 9:00 AM. He said I have to have my emission and inspection done in 15 days or I will have my car taken and my licence suspended! Wow, I never even got a point on my license, not to mention it seems this year alone I have received about 20 tickets. Before he turns away I say, "what did you pull me over for?" he says, "you inspection and emission stickers." I said, "You could see that ALL the way over there? Wow you have good eyes." I think he was bullshitting.
So...I thought I had extra money in my pocket, but I guess I have to go. I have to do it eventually anyway...I was kind of hoping to be able to skip a year. I am only 4 months away. LOL. Why cant we be like other states? like NJ for instance, they don't need inspection stickers yearly. Why do we need to?

parts

So my girls are at that age that they are curious about the opposite sex, which we all know is very normal. They ask a lot of questions, and some adults find it a little uncomfortable to contend with. Especially their father and two older brothers.

We all went to see the movie Toy Story 3 in 3D. We had a great time, as this was the girls first trip to the movie theater. To my surprize they did very well. Coda (Dakota) had a bit of a hard time watching the movie with the 3D. Apparently the whole 3D thing makes her sick to her stomach. Then we all made a big joke because my 12 year old step-son, Austin also can't deal with watching 3D as it makes him sick. Since both Coda and Austin are left handed, we were joking that the part of the brain that deals with 3D is not working in their brains.

We all left out of the movie theater with our left over soda and popcorn and walked to the car. Coda says to my 15 year old step son, "Dillon, your my brother right?"

Dillon responds, "of course Coda".

Coda says, "...and your a boy right?"

Dillon laughs, "yeah the last time I check I was."

Coda says, "then you have a penis!"

Dillon spit out his soda which came out of his nose as well. "Dude she just said..." Dillon looks at his dad in shock and points to Dakota.

Cher (Cherokee) walks up to Dillon and says, "...and I have a 'b'agina!" in her wonderful little speach impedament.

My husband chimes in, "yo! yo! chill with the words." Austin says, "Coda say wee wee, it sounds better."

We get into this big heated debate over the girls knowing and using the words penis and vagina.

All the males in the car voted it was "not normal to hear their "little sisters" or "baby girls" using such "adult" words. But are they? Is it because we as adults associate them in a sexual mannor and to make pretty baby words like "ho ho, peach, cookie, wee wee, bird" takes away from that sexual context?

I prefer the girls know the correct parts of their bodies as this is what they are. I want them to be able to explain things iin clear language, not baby talk. Everyone has their opinion on this and I do not judge those who do not agree with my thoughts, as their are many people who don't includng my very best friend. LOL. Your thoughts?
